Karmel didn’t think about the future. With her school friend Lene, she played fairly cruel games. But soon she had to experience what it means to be rejected, misunderstood, and lonely. Wanting to change the scenery, she went to the village Zakharino and there unexpectedly encountered the ghost of a girl named Katya. To get rid of the otherworldly being and fulfill its request, Karmel set off on a journey to find a soldier who disappeared back in the distant 1943.
On the way through the Smolensk region, the travelers found themselves in dangerous, strange, and rather frightening situations more than once. Only Katya helped her find a way out and continue the journey. Later, working with a search team, she was able to understand herself, and—most importantly—she met love: difficult at times, sometimes bitter, but so real.
