The little man never disappeared from the times of Gogol and Dostoevsky. He is still among us: walking the boulevards, riding the subway and buses, going to an unnamed institution. Lonely, unnoticed by anyone, yet within him—an entire universe. And he is mortal. While he is alive, he can go to heaven and hell, return from there, create Nothing, and find the Gate of the Future… But when he dies, the story ends, and a blizzard covers the tracks.
