Yellow Danger Level

Ideal family weekends turn into a trap when a rampaging storm and two uninvited guests at the doorstep shatter the familiar routine, forcing the heroes to take a fresh look at each other—and at themselves.

Dorte arrives at a secluded, luxurious guest house in the midst of nature, when bad weather already hangs over the area. The whole family is supposed to gather here for the weekend to celebrate her parents’ golden wedding: Dorte’s brother will come, as well as her sister with her husband and their dog. But almost immediately, Dorte begins to doubt that the idea of bringing everyone together far from people was a good one. The storm grows and cuts the house off from the outside world: a landslide blocks the road, and the family is trapped inside—along with two unfamiliar hunters who have accidentally found shelter here. Dorte doesn’t yet realize that the landslide is only the first jolt in a chain of events that will forever change the life of each of them.

“Yellow Level of Danger” is a novel about people and animals, about fear and closeness—about how we see one another, and the nature we inevitably remain a part of.
