When you’re ten—summer in the village is the best thing that can happen. When you’re nineteen, it’s a disappointment. Kostya ran away to his grandparents to escape the collapsing world around him, hoping to find rest and peace. Instead, at the Kupala festival he stumbled upon real magic. For some, summer 1991 is remembered for the August coup. For Kostya, it was a summer of long days and hot nights. All characters are older than 18.
