A person is defenseless when attacked from the sky—whether it’s divine punishment or a bomb. The human body is fragile and subject to easy, rapid, painful destruction. But the souls that inhabit that body sometimes survive. Perhaps one of them, overcoming earthly gravity, will break through into the heavens through the air and learn what all this was needed for. The novel “Earth—Air—Heaven” is a story about the fate of Ernst Jünger in our days—a warrior, writer, and philosopher, the way he can and, probably, should be today. Together with him—direct, slightly blunt, utterly candid—the reader will witness the first Chechen campaign, Lugansk after 2014, the Caucasus of the Great Patriotic War era; he will be able to fight in Syria under the leadership of “Hitler” and decide for himself how to die, how to live, and what to hope for if war for Homo sapiens is as inevitable as it is desired.
