For the first time in Russian—one of the main book events of 2020, “Green Lights,” by the famous Matthew McConaughey (an “Oscar” winner for Best Actor in “Dallas Buyers Club,” Rust Cohle in the series “True Detective,” Mickey Pearson in Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen”)—partly illustrated autobiography, partly a life manual. At the turn of the century, as he became a star of romantic comedies, McConaughey decided to turn his fate around and realize himself as a serious dramatic actor.

He tells about what it cost him to make that decision—and other life-changing decisions: leaving for a year to Australia right after school, switching from law school to the film industry institute, spending three years on the road, traveling from one set to another in an autocar trailer with a stray dog named Miss Hud, and most importantly—earning his father’s respect…
