Britt-Marie is not the easiest person to get along with. It’s not that she’s especially stubborn, capricious, or picky— she’s simply sacredly convinced that absolute order must exist, always, everywhere, and in everything.
But all that order collapses in a single moment when Britt-Marie finds out that Kent—the man she and he have lived with in an exemplary marriage for forty years—has been unfaithful to her. She makes an astonishing decision for herself—pack a suitcase and leave wherever her eyes look. In a remote provincial town with not very welcoming locals, Britt-Marie will have to build a new life that will be completely unlike the old one. Unexpectedly for herself, the champion of perfect cleanliness starts befriending a rat—and becomes a coach of the local football team (even though she can’t stand football—at least, not less than she can’t stand disorder).
Taking care of the boys and girls of Borg, Britt-Marie gradually gets involved in every nuance of life in the village. Could it be that in a world where oddballs are thrown to the roadside, she will finally find her place?..
