Anderson Lake, an employee of “AgroGen,” attempts to find a bank of seeds in the city of Krung Thep of the independent state of Thailand. Hok Sen, a Chinese man, hopes to steal the secret of a spring manufactured at Anderson’s plant in order to restore his clan. Emiko, a “New Human” created by the Japanese to help and serve, ends up in a brothel where she suffers constant humiliations. Jaide, the national hero—a former Muay Thai fighter and captain of the “white coats”—fights against lawlessness.
Everyone has their own goals, but all of them become entangled in the struggle between two ministries over possession of the city.
