The Knight's Testament

The Knight's Testament

8 hrs. 14 min.
Description
Sir Anthony, an English knight, was saved from certain death by a Russian bogatyr during the Crusade to Jerusalem—so he ended up in Russia and took part in the struggle against the Tatar-Mongol invasion.
He was not destined to return to England; he managed only to pass along a letter in which he told of his fate and the treasures hidden away.
In our time, two young men—descendants of the knight and the bogatyr—make an attempt to find the ancient treasure…

From the author: This book was the first one I wrote not in line with the long, carefully developed subject (see the essay “Heroes of My Time”)—and, in essence, my first book devoted to the real life around us. Of course, I wrote it looking at the world through pink-tinted glasses. But on the other hand, I wrote a straightforward classic adventure book for teenagers—one that I would have wanted to read at 12–14. And I think, from that angle, the book is not so bad at all. And anyway—judge for yourself. That’s the best way.
