Boris Megreli was born in 1934 in Kutaisi. There he also graduated from the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature at the State Pedagogical Institute. He worked in journalism. He worked in Tbilisi, where he began his writing career. Later he moved to Moscow, continuing to write novels with a single hero, Sergo Bakuridze—who also relocates to Moscow and works in the capital’s criminal investigation service. The novels “Without Any Credentials,” “The Spider,” and “A Tied-Up Knot” are devoted to the most relevant topics today (and always)—the use by criminals of economic problems occurring in the country. These books can be classified as psychological detective stories.
After moving to Moscow in 1958, Boris Megreli worked for about twenty years as a TASS correspondent. Since 1980 he has been a professional writer.
