We offer you to listen to an audio book about the history of Rus’, its people, invasions, and protectors.
At all times, the Russian land was generous and rich: in its boundless expanses grew fertile fields, in the forests there was plenty of wildlife, and there were countless treasures in its depths. And what can be said about people—about skilled masters and craftswomen, about brave and strong warriors. That is why so many wanted to come to Rus’ to possess all these treasures. Numerous invaders gave no peace to Russian towns and villages: first the Khazars, then the Polovtsians, then German knights, then Tatar hordes… The Rus’ fought them off, but they also had to pay tribute and endure captivity in foreign lands. And who knows if our homeland would have withstood the onslaught of all those who wanted to conquer it—if not for the princes, noble defenders of the Russian land.
Under their banners, the people rose up to fight for their land without sparing their strength, cutting down the enemy. History preserves many glorious names: Yaroslav the Wise, Vladimir Monomakh, Alexander Nevsky, Dmitry Donskoy… This audio book is about the difficult feat of their service to the fatherland.
