Description
The MediaBook studio presents an audiobook of the famous Russian, Soviet writer, doctor, translator, literary scholar, laureate of the Pushkin and Stalin Prizes—Vikenty Vikentyevich Veresaev’s “Doctor’s Notes.”

The audiobook is narrated by popular theater and film actor and dubbing artist Valery Tolkоv.

“ I finished my course in the medical faculty seven years ago. From this, the reader can see what they are entitled to expect from my notes. My notes are not those of an old, experienced doctor summing up the results of long observations and reflections, who has developed certain answers to all the difficult questions of medical science, ethics, and the profession. These are also not notes of a physician-philosopher who has deeply penetrated the core of the science and fully mastered it. I am an ordinary, middle-ranking doctor, with an average mind and average knowledge; I myself get confused by contradictions, and I am absolutely not able to resolve many of those heavy questions that require urgent answers and that arise before me at every step. My only advantage is that I have not yet had time to become a man of the profession, and for me those impressions are still vivid and strong to which, over time, one inevitably becomes accustomed. I will be writing about what I experienced when learning medicine, what I expected from it, and what it gave me; I will write about my first independent steps in medical practice and about the impressions I carried away from it. I will try to write everything, nothing hiding, and I will try to write sincerely.”
