Dmitry Pravdin, a talented surgeon, heads the surgical department in a naval hospital in Saint Petersburg that is in a deplorable state. He will have to put in a great deal of effort to improve the department’s work.
Pravdin will have to overcome the difficulties of military bureaucracy and find a common language with the leadership, which demands constant reporting and paperwork. He will give lectures for on-duty personnel and, of course, treat the servicemen—including generals with unconventional views of medicine.
Will he be able to successfully meet the challenges his new position brings?
