Kolyma. The late USSR era. A young soldier flees from a military unit; he is the son of a shamaness from Chukotka. The search is led by Colonel Strezhak, who is forced to leave a sick child with a neighbor. This tragedy will forever change the life of his family. Strezhak will have to meet the shamaness and receive from her a mysterious gift.
Moscow. Our days. A young woman, Lara, is crushed by loneliness. Ruslan, a consultant on happiness, decides to help her—his methods always work. However, the secret of his success is hidden from outsiders. No one knows who truly stands behind Ruslan and who is repairing broken lives. His business is reminiscent of a little box full of hiding places.
The consequences of the tragedy in Kolyma appear years later. The fates set in motion by the shamaness draw more and more people in. The present is governed by the past. The distant is always near.
