Description
In 1940, in Paris, when war was on the horizon, Jacques Duval, the owner of a small bookstore, and his charming wife were happy together and made plans for the future. But their life changed with the arrival of the Nazis: the wife was forced to go underground, and Jacques had to watch as he lost everything dear to him—except his bookstore.

One night, a young woman with a child comes to him for help, and Jacques realizes that his last hope is to risk everything to save them.

Decades later, Juliette and her husband set off on the long-awaited trip to France. Yet she slowly comes to understand how far they have drifted after 25 years of marriage. Learning of her husband’s betrayal, Juliette decides to begin life anew in Paris, where her family’s roots brought her. Searching for answers about her past, she finds an abandoned bookstore with a sign offering it for sale—and she feels that this place was meant for her.
