“Better listen to me, girl. Lex draws me to himself, and his cold, pale eyes are now so close that my heart first stops—and then starts beating fast, fast, fast.”

“Why do you need me?” I whisper.

Lex smirks and runs his hand along my cheek.

“You’re beautiful. I love beautiful things. It’s nice to have them close.”

“But I’m not a thing!” I say with despair.

“You can’t just take and… take me.”

“Can’t I? Are you challenging me, girl?”

“I… no… I’m not— I…”

“Challenge accepted. And don’t tell me later that I didn’t warn you.”

I only wanted to help my friend out of trouble, but I ended up in a car with some bandit who won’t let me go until my friend repays him his debt.

But it seems he doesn’t want to let me go at all. Ever.
