“Humorous Stories” is an almanac of works by the Czech satirist writer Jaroslav Hašek (1883–1923), author of 1.5 thousand different stories and feuilletons who became world-famous for creating the novel “The Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk” (unfortunately, he didn’t have time to finish it). In the distinctive humorous manner of Hašek’s stories, this almanac tells about everyday situations in which a “small man” might find himself; and in a number of the stories, cases are described that the author himself was a witness to or a participant in.
