I Know Nothing

Socrates, the ancient Greek philosopher, left no written works, but his students Plato and Xenophon passed on his philosophical views in the form of dialogues and stories. These texts help us understand what Socrates taught, what his main values were, and what problems occupied him.

This collection brings together Socrates’s sayings that can be useful for today’s readers as well. Some of his statements may seem contradictory due to different interpretations by his students. This is because his students interpreted his ideas in different ways. However, this also allows the reader to analyze things independently and draw conclusions.
