Of the total number of 9,200 Belarusian villages burned by the Hitlerites during the Great Patriotic War, 4,885 were destroyed by punitive units. Completely, with all residents, 627 villages were killed; with part of the population—4,258. This book contains stories about villages that were destroyed and about the partisan army that saved people from extermination. The real book, a documentary source, also includes testimonies of surviving residents of Belarusian villages, collected by the authors, about the atrocities committed by the fascists during the Great Patriotic War.
