The Nature of Witches

For many centuries, witches supported the climate, but now the atmosphere is breaking down, storms are growing stronger, and witches can barely keep up. All hope rests on the Supreme Witch, who is born once every generation and whose magic is connected to all seasons. Her name is Clara. And in autumn Clara realizes she doesn’t want to control her power. Wild and changeable, she’s needed for managing the weather, but the cost— the death of loved ones—is too high.
