“Around the Moon” is a science-fiction novel by the French writer Jules Verne. Members of the Cannon Club—who once managed a flight to the Moon (in the novels “From the Earth to the Moon in Direct Route in 97 Hours 20 Minutes” and “Around the Moon”)—now acquire uncharted territory in the Arctic, where, as they assume, there are coal deposits.
