This truth was known to the Poets even before it took shape in Hippius’s words. In this collection, the subject is love in all its colors and manifestations—its joys, enthusiasms, betrayals, jealousy, disappointments; the person with his feelings and emotions, reason and its sense of time and space; and death, sometimes accompanying Love. All of this is wonderfully captured in poetic speech by outstanding Russian poets of the Golden and Silver Ages, and by our contemporaries—while the heartfelt music brings to light and shades every movement of the soul.
