Author’s biography: Lev Moiseyevich Shcheglov was born in Leningrad on 28.08.1946. He graduated from the Leningrad Sanitary-and-Hygienic Medical Institute (1971) and worked on problems of psychotherapy. Since 1982—highest medical qualification category. Since the early 1990s he has been actively promoting the ideas of healthy sex on radio, television, and in the press. He took part in many radio and TV shows—“Adam’s Apple,” “Blue Pages,” “Ask Doctor Shcheglov.” He appeared in the TV series “Streets of Broken Lamps (Cops).” In 2000, on the advice of the radio host’s son Roman Trakhtenberg, he started consulting live on the radio station “Europe Plus” on matters of sex.
Doctor of Medical Sciences (1998), professor (1999). Founder and member of the Board of the National Federation of Psychoanalysis (since 1997). Secretary of the Association of Sexologists of Russia (since 1992).
Since 1999—founder, vice-rector, and dean of the Faculty of Sexology of the Institute of Psychology and Sexology (St. Petersburg). Author of 15 monographs and popular-science books, and two novels—“Labyrinths of Passion” and “Androgyne.” Lives in St. Petersburg.
