A person is naturally afraid of death. At times, everyone catches themselves thinking that someday the end of their life’s journey will come. Nobody knows when it will happen, under what circumstances, and what will be next. It scares, makes you think about the present, strive toward your goals. But fear still doesn’t go anywhere… Accepting the fact that human life is finite is difficult for many. The American psychologist and psychotherapist Irvin Yalom repeatedly encountered this in his practice, and it became the basis of the book “All of Us Are Made of Day.”
Based on real stories of his patients, the professor conveys to the reader the idea that the finiteness of life is not bad. It needs to be acknowledged and accepted as it is. The author teaches the reader how to live with pleasure, take more from life, and relate to death meaningfully.
