Former soldier Hugh Stanton lost his wife and two children in a car accident. Struggling through the unbearable grief, he agrees to an offer by Cambridge scientists to send him 111 years back—to 1914. His mission is to prevent the start of World War I, which will be the cause of all the troubles in the 20th century. The reason for the war will be just a single fired bullet. But can some miserable bit of lead be the cause of misfortunes over an entire century? And if it can—how likely is it that, thanks to yet another such bullet, the 20th century will be spared all wars, suffering, and tears?
