Description
The Roman god Mercury finds himself in the modern world and tries to figure out where the other gods went, adapting to the new conditions. He remembers how he was once a great deity, but now he’s in a foreign world where people prefer trousers and move around on machines. Keeping only part of his power, as patron of trade, theft, and travel, Mercury decides to find out why divine power has passed into human hands. Mercury isn’t used to denying himself pleasures, and following his brother Mars’s advice, he believes that even in war there should be time for rest—especially when there are so many beautiful, yet unnoticed women around.
