Description
Thomas Edward Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia, was a British archaeologist, traveler, soldier, spy, writer, and diplomat. His involvement in the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916–1918 earned him the nickname "Lawrence of Arabia". His memoir "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" brought him worldwide fame. In his book "Revolt in the Desert", Lawrence describes the romance and heroism of colonial war in the East, as well as events of World War I in Palestine and Mesopotamia. Lawrence also provides a detailed account of Britain’s tactics and strategy in the Near and Middle East, the work of British intelligence, and the everyday life of local tribes.
