Upbringing Without Upbringing. How to Keep a Child's Trust

2 hrs. 44 min.
Description
Not long ago, just over a hundred years ago, it was considered that the birch rod was a legitimate tool of upbringing and education. A “proper” person would grow up, and they would learn Latin. Discipline without punishment was unthinkable.

Now it’s different times. But it seems we still can’t give up punishment as an effective educational tool. How do we raise children without coercion? Without undermining their dignity? How can we find the courage to protect a child’s dignity through any twists and turns of growing up? A person who knows about dignity, respects dignity, and defends their own dignity and that of others—lives with dignity in any circumstances of life, which do not always depend on us. Giving such a person the chance to grow up this way is the educator’s greatest goal, the parent’s biggest dream—one that is present in each of us, even if not always consciously.

In the program:
– long-forgotten and newest tools of upbringing;
– we analyze the areas of a child’s life where they are not free from our parental “attention”;
– we look for methods of upbringing that allow us to refuse coercion in any form;
– we learn to create a personal parent training manual in pedagogy.
