Julian Treslove is a middle-aged man, a typical loser who expects nothing new from life. A failed family man living in a modest London neighborhood, with no professional success—and in love too—earning no respect from his children, who mostly mock him. But everything changes for Julian Treslove when, one night, a woman attacks and robs him, calling him a Jew. Through long self-examination and comparing facts, Treslove convinces himself that he is truly a Jew—and that fundamentally changes his life.
