The Will to Power: An Attempted Transvaluation of All Values

The book “THE WILL TO POWER” can be considered Nietzsche’s main work. This is a work to which nearly all the trends of modern thought owe their emergence, a world-culture event that influenced the entire history of the twentieth century. Linking the will with the phenomenon of life, Nietzsche considers the will to power “embodied will to life,” the defining impetus of activity and the main human capacity. According to Nietzsche, it is the will to power that underlies everything that exists, “the very inner essence of being.” Believing modern morality to be thoroughly false and hostile to life, Nietzsche appears as a “radical nihilist” and demands a radical revaluation of the values of culture, philosophy, and religion. Nietzsche’s monumental work remained unfinished and was reconstructed and published by staff of the Nietzsche archive after his death.
