In 1760, Guillaume Le Gentil, an astronomer of King Louis XV, sets sail to the shores of India to observe a rare astronomical phenomenon—the transit of Venus—hoping to calculate the distance from Earth to the Sun.

Caprices of fate turned a normally simple and brief journey into an incredible adventure lasting eleven years.

250 years later, a Paris real estate agent Xavier Lemercier finds in an apartment he sold a box that the previous owners didn’t use, containing a telescope that belonged to Le Gentil. From his balcony, looking at neighboring houses, in the window of one apartment he sees a beautiful stranger and, next to her… a zebra.

The next day, this woman walks into the office door of Xavier, and his life changes forever…
