To commemorate Victor Tsoi’s anniversary, an audiobook has been released that includes many of his interviews. It gathers both well-known and rare conversations with Tsoi that he gave to Soviet media—television, radio, newspapers, and magazines—as well as to underground publications such as “Roksi” and “RIO” in the period from 1983 to 1990. Additional materials include transcribed video interviews, press conferences, conversations with fans, responses to notes after concerts, and some archival photographs. The interviews are accompanied by commentary from the author-compiler.
In the anniversary year, when Victor Tsoi would have turned 60, it is important to recall his thoughts and statements on various issues, and to introduce a new generation to the topics and problems that interested the leader of the group “KINO” at the time—which, even if it seems distant, is still relevant to us today.
