A divorced poet who ran away from his hometown—also trying to run away from himself—hired through a newspaper ad becomes the escort of Vera, a widowed millionaire businesswoman. Soon, a passionate love flares up between them. Suddenly, a killer appears—someone Vera hired to deal with the murderers of her husband. And then other strange events begin to unfold… For now, this is the writer’s biggest novel. The plot is almost detective-like and keeps the reader on edge from the first line to the last. At the same time, the novel is full of philosophical reflections, astonishing theories, lyricism, and poetry (including poems by Sergey Sergeevich himself). Several real people appear as characters (Emir Kusturica, and others). The novel also contains journalistic revelations about the political situation in our country and in the world.
