The Torrents of Spring

The novella tells the story of a love affair involving a Russian landowner.
Turgenev wrote a series of novellas that are considered recollections of the past (“The Story of Lieutenant Yergunov,” “The Brigadier,” “Unhappy,” “The Stepppe King Lear,” “A Strange Story,” “Spring Waters,” “Knock, knock, knock,” “Keeps knocking,” “Punin and Baburin,” and others). But the most significant work is considered to be “Spring Waters,” whose hero belongs to the powerless people that the author so often describes in his writing.
