Michael Storz is a fanatic of extreme sports—an “adrenaline drug addict.” Climbing and surfing, alpine skiing and diving, paragliding and jumping with a parachute, racing at insane speeds and even brawls in bars—freedom is the air he breathes, tortured by his powerful mother’s control since childhood, and later worn down by the monotonous boredom of “successful man” existence. The fear of a genuinely loving wife for his life only irritates Michael; her attempts to make family life work lead to new conflicts, and conflicts lead to mutual alienation. But then, one day, Michael gets a chance to throw it all away. To leave. And at last ask himself a simple question: what, in the end, does he want? In what does he see the meaning of his further existence?
