Mikhail Shishkin’s novel “Venus’s Hair” has won three prestigious literary awards at once: the “Big Book,” the “National Bestseller,” and the I. Bunin Prize. Based on it, a stage production titled “The Most Important” was staged at the Petr Fomenko Theatre Studio. A renowned prose writer who has been living in Switzerland in recent years once again proved that “high prose” is needed by readers. “Venus’s Hair is a little weed in a fleeting city of Rome, a weed in Russia is a houseplant that doesn’t survive without human warmth…” (Mikhail Shishkin).
