1920s, USA, Long Island. Nick Carraway rents a small house tucked into an upscale neighborhood. Next door stands a mansion owned by a certain Jay Gatsby. In Gatsby’s house there are parties every day—music and dancing until morning. Across the bay lives Nick’s sister, Daisy.

Nick unexpectedly finds himself involved in a long-ago mysterious story, with his sister and his neighbor as the main characters.

The Great Gatsby is the story of a self-made man. Behind the dazzling, sparkling society and the décor of an endless celebration, a harsh past and a strong personality are hidden—along with a broken heart and a huge human tragedy.

The 2014 film adaptation received 2 Oscars and 2 prizes from the British Film Academy. The audiobook is narrated by Mikhail Tikhonov, the dubbing stand-in for Tobey Maguire in the role of Nick Carraway in the film with Leonardo DiCaprio.
