Description
“The Great Dream” throws us into nostalgic 1991—an age of confusion, fear of the future, and the most fantastic hopes: a time of trade-and-procurement cooperatives, “Adidas” pants, and stall-bought “Royal” liquor. A twenty-one-year-old hero with an army behind him and two years of journalism studies at Moscow State University drops out because money is needed, since magazine articles don’t pay. His older friend Yura (older not by age but by life)—who spent a year in prison—is full of determination to build a successful criminal career. Andrey works for his friend as a driver (before prison, Yura gave him his “Zhiguli”), rides with him to meetings, watches his mysterious and illegal life from the outside—already ready to get involved in it.
