Young reconnaissance cosmonaut El Brit goes alone on a long mission to explore new worlds and find, for humanity, the best future home. His only companion is a genetically modified symbiote on his neck, created to support the body in conditions where an ordinary person would not survive. Against the backdrop of monotonous nine months of travel, El notices a troubling detail: the symbiote behaves as if it has its own consciousness.
As the mysterious blue planet TDK-4872 comes closer, an odd but strong connection forms between El and the creature he has nicknamed Blob, revealing new ways to investigate this beautiful world. His first encounter with the surface of an alien planet brings excitement and awe, but unusual dreams and the symbiote’s increasingly inexplicable actions make El doubt himself and search for answers.
