“The Sorcerer-Gifted Guide” is a science-fiction novel by Vasily Evstratov. Genre: action sci-fi. Since ancient times people predicted all kinds of Ends of the World for themselves—while successfully continuing to live, forgetting about one that still hadn’t come, and living in fear of the next one, which was about to arrive. This year, it seemed, there were no such predictions—but then: “Did you call? Didn’t expect me? I’ve finally come to you!” The end of the world still drew closer than ever. “Judgment Day has arrived, and a bright star is burning in the sky—it is its omen!”—so the many sects spreading in the last days said. But any end is also the beginning of something new! A new world. An updated world. And the “new bright star burning over the sky” brought not only an ending, but also new opportunities for the survivors. Even—super opportunities. With the “bright star” came “magic” into our updated world, generously gifting people. The only problem is that it didn’t come only for people.
