The Witch's Treasure

Many legends are tied to gold, because ever since ancient times it has drawn people in, awakening their lowest instincts—greed, cruelty, and envy. One of the stories people tell one another is about a powerful witch, the mistress of gold mines in the Siberian wilderness. They say she can not only reward generously, but also destroy in revenge for an old wrong. Nastya wasn’t looking for gold. She wanted only peace and solitude—to forget the terrible betrayal she had survived. Not by her own will, she was swept into a dreadful whirlpool that swirled around the coveted treasure. And now her main task is simply to survive.
