Edik may not have been considered a bad guy in life, but his cynical views and certain actions definitely didn’t please the higher power that accidentally carried his soul into the afterlife. And although the power meets the hero halfway, giving him a strong advantage in this new world, it couldn’t do without a spoonful of bitterness. Meanwhile, the underground dungeon lives its own life: it gives gifts and creates problems and troubles that the hero, whether he wants to or not, has to plunge into. At the beginning, he’s just a minor pawn that isn’t interesting to many. But the farther he goes, the deeper he will be pulled into the deadly games of the powerful. Whether he becomes a savior of local residents, a hero—a brave fighter against evil and slavery—or whether he’ll follow only his own mercantile interests—will be up to him to decide.
