Vasyutka's Lake

This edition includes six short stories by Viktor Astafyev recommended for reading in grades 5–6: “Vasyutkino Lake,” “The Horse with the Pink Mane,” “Kapalukha,” “The Photograph Where I’m Not There,” “Trees Grow for Everyone,” and “A Boy in a White Shirt.”

The plots of these works are based on the writer’s childhood memories of life in a distant taiga village—about his friends and teachers, as well as the person dearst to him—his grandmother.
