The audio studio “Ardis” presents the most popular stories from the short-story and novella cycle by Kir Bulychev, whose events take place in an old Russian (fictional) town called Veliky Guslyar. It’s located in the north of European Russia, in the Vologda Oblast, on the Gusy River—a tributary of the Northern Dvina.

The town lies on a plain, surrounded by “collective-farm fields and dense forests.” At the same time, according to Academician Spichkin, it is situated on the “bulge of the earth,” and therefore aliens from space can see it better than any other city in the world…
