Description
After becoming an orphan, Oleg grows into a closed, quiet child. His empty gaze frightens people, making them want to run away. When he becomes independent, he tries to find his place in the world. After changing many jobs, he finally finds the one where his presence is tolerated. Here, Oleg finds his first friend in life—someone whose cursed gaze doesn’t scare them. It seems like life is getting better, but the friend’s efforts to make Oleg’s life “complete” soon lead to a tragedy that finally breaks him. Oleg decides to end his life—and just before the death he expects, he notices his own shadow, now “grown wings.” He wakes up in utter darkness, where a voice deeply familiar to him tells him incredible stories. In a coma, Oleg gathers around himself people who care. They look after him, waiting for a miraculous awakening. None of them can imagine that the echoes of what the boy has lived through will, without asking permission, burst into their lives. Will Oleg find a way out of the captivity of consciousness—or will the punishing hand of his past finish him once and for all?
