“The Morning of a Landowner” is Tolstoy L.N.’s autobiographical story about how the young prince Nehlyudov leaves university and moves to live in the countryside, intending to ease the lives of his serfs. The futility of his attempts was explained most accurately by Turgenev I.S.: “...while the serfdom system exists, there is no possibility of closeness and mutual understanding between both sides, despite even the most disinterested and honest readiness for reconciliation...” .
