The Fixed Period

Anthony Trollope is an English writer, one of the most successful and talented novelists of the Victorian era. In Trollope’s works, the problems of his time are reflected—political, social, and family-related. In his depiction of manners, the writer appears as a successor to the traditions of English humorous writers of the 18th century. "The Fixed Period" is the only work by Trollope in the genre of dystopia. The concept of the Fixed Period became a recurring theme in 20th-century fiction—for example, in Isaac Asimov’s 1950 novel "The Pebble in the Sky." I’m sure this book will take its rightful place among outstanding science-fiction authors such as Orwell, Huxley, and Bradbury.
