“Guys, well… what do you think of our new girl?”—a nearby guy asks. “An unremarkable, quiet type—nothing special.”
“Usually, the kind of ‘quiet ones,’ as you put it, have plenty of interesting things hidden under baggy clothes,” I note for some reason without even looking up from my phone.
“Wait, don’t tell me you want to test—” my main competitor Kir laughs.
“I haven’t even seen her,” I shrug—suddenly I’m genuinely interested. “But I’ve always liked fresh meat.”
“Then let’s bet. Whoever is the first to ‘unwrap’ our new classmate, that one’s the winner.” He holds out his hand to me. “And the loser pays for the pre-New-Year trip!”
Without thinking too much, I reach out and nod toward the guy standing nearby. “Go ahead.”
