The book by the well-known Egyptologist I. S. Katsnelson tells the story of the discovery of the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun in the early 20th century by the English archaeologist Howard Carter. It offers a thorough characterization of the time of Tutankhamun, describes the tomb itself and the objects found inside—some of which were displayed at an exhibition in Moscow, Leningrad, and Kyiv.
