Description
Gypsy tales are devoted to a love of a nomadic life; they are based on the myths of India’s ancestral homeland and are mixed with forest and field creatures. But the most popular among the Roma are special stories in which, quite seriously, the adventures of living dead men, horse-things (losholiches), urm revels, witches, and other supernatural beings are described. One could say that Hollywood horror films are a vivid example of a Gypsy tale—made to scare. In both cases, the characters are virtually the same; the only difference is that in the first case the material is presented as a film adaptation, while in the latter it is told as a lyrical tale.
